What I collect on this site, why, and who sees it. Short version: I use it to plan your trip and answer you, I only share what a cruise line, resort, or hotel needs to book you, and I never sell it.
Who I am
This site is run by Kevin Golden, The Country Cruiser, a travel advisor in the Houston area. When this policy says "I" or "me," that's who it means.
What I collect
I only collect what you type into a form or send me yourself:
Trip form: your name, mobile number, and email; what you're thinking about; and, if you choose to share them, roughly when, how many people and whether any kids are coming, and your preferred way to hear back.
Texts, calls, and emails: if you call or text my cell at (832) 341-6692, or email me, I'll have your number or address and our messages, same as any phone.
Booking a chat: if you book a cruise chat, Calendly collects the details on its booking form and shares them with me.
The forms on this site don't ask for payment card numbers, passport numbers, or anything like that.
How I use it
To answer your questions and get back to you the way you asked.
To plan, quote, and book your trip.
Who I share it with
Only the folks who need it to book your trip: cruise lines, resorts, hotels, and other travel suppliers, plus my host agency, which processes my bookings. I share what's needed for your booking and nothing more.
I never sell your information, and I don't share it with anybody for their own marketing.
I may also share information if the law requires it.
The services behind this site
Squarespace hosts this website, stores form entries, and runs the site's traffic stats (Squarespace Analytics).
Google Sheets: form entries may also be saved to a private Google Sheet through Squarespace's Google Drive form storage, if that storage is connected.
Calendly handles chat bookings.
Squarespace, Google, and Calendly each have their own privacy policy for the information they handle.
Cookies and analytics
Like most websites, this one uses cookies so the site works and so I can see general traffic through Squarespace Analytics, like how many people visit and which pages they look at. Calendly may set its own cookies when you book a chat. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. If you click through to Facebook, TikTok, or my booking site, their own policies apply there.
Kids
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. When a family trip includes kids, I only ask a parent or guardian for what the travel supplier needs to book them.
Keeping it safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information and only keep it as long as I need it for your trip, my records, or the law. No website or email is 100% secure, so please don't send passport or card numbers through the forms.
Your choices
Ask me to show you, fix, or delete the information I have about you. Some booking records I may need to keep.
